Wellness and conditioning – fun swims
Before embarking on any hydrotherapy or physiotherapy, you must ask that your usual veterinary surgeon examines and gives permission for your pet to attend sessions at the hydrotherapy centre at ChesterGates. It is a good idea to ensure that your pet’s annual booster vaccinations are up to date as well.
On your first visit you and your pet will meet with the rehab team for an initial evaluation of your pet’s fitness. A hydrotherapy programme will be established, which may consist of both water treadmill and pool work.

Fun swims
We have recently introduced fun swims for healthy pets. Some dogs are natural swimmers and others are not so confident in the water. We offer buoyancy aids and assistance in the water to help your pet become accustomed to swimming. Swim times are increased with each session to a maximum of 20 minutes in the pool.
